Today we have been learning about Niean and Tokelau facts. I learnt some Niean and Tokelau words.Miss Taylor set some activites for us. I did the 5 words and Phrases in Tokelau and Niean. I made a poster of the words that i learnt.

Science Navigtion in Space

 Talofa welcome back to my blog, today in science we are learning about navigation in space. 

Today Mr Reizinger showed us what the biggest thing is in the planet is and how far it is.We also have some questions to answer about navigation in space. 

here are the questions.

The difference between Galaxy, Universe and the Solar  System?

1.Galaxy

The Galaxy, Universe and the Solar System has different heart of anostary.

2.Solar System

The difference is that the solar system consists a star, the sun and the objects affected by the gravity.

3. Univerese

The universe is the largest of these three concepts. All things in the universe include's galaxy and the solar system.

2.What is a star? What is a nebula?

What is a star?

a star is a shiny thing that shines at night. So when it's night you can go outside with a telescope and look at the stars shining in the sky.

What is a nebula?

A nebula is a cloud of dust and gas in space that makes stars. 

3.How does a star die?t

The star dies because they exhaust nuclear fuel. Really massive stars use up there hydrogen fuel quickly.

4. Is there are up or down in space?

There is no up or down in space because it will be really confusing and it could mess with your mind.

5. How can stars be used to navigate?

Stars can be navigation for sailors because sometime sailors forget how to get back to shore,So the navigation star helps the sailor get back to shore.

How do bees make honey?

 Talofa welcome back to my blog. Today we have been doing writing

Writing for this term is how do bees make honey. We watched a video on how do bees make honey.We had to write three paragraph's of how do bees make honey. 1 fact about bees is that they need 1000 flowers to make honey.

here is my informations  of how do bees make honey.

Bees go to 8 million flowers to make honey and make our fruits, veges 

First bees pollinate 3 quarters of our Fruits, Vegetables and Nuts. When they get to the flowers bees dive head first using their long tongues to slurp the nectar.They need 1000 flowers to pollinate and make honey.They collect nectar as much as possible.

Secondly the bees store the collected nectar in their honey stomach. Bees will vomit nectar into another bee worker and will keep going.one bee hive has 50kg’s of honey. Some bees are not that big so they don't get that much nectar

After They vomit into the honeycomb cell they cover it with wax so then the honey comb will stay together. Bees go around the world to find heaps of flowers to collect nectar.They need at least 1000 flowers to make honey.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Talofa welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be telling you what i did in cooking class. 

On Wednesday and Thursday we have cooking. On Wednesday and Thursday we made chocolate chip cookies. On Wednesday we made the dough for the cookies.On Thursday we put them in the oven and we tasted the cookies after. The cookies smelt like buttery cookies. The texture was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The taste was amazingly awesome with the chocolate chips it  made the whole cookie taste delicious.We had eight each because we only had 3 at our table. 

Here is the ingrediants and recipe

 1/4 c sugar(50g)

6t or 100g margarine or butter

2t condence milk 

1t baking powder

1c flour 

1t essence

1/4c of in-conclusion

Method

Preheat oven 180 degrees/c fan bake

cream butter (room temperature) and add sugar in large bowl

To the creamed mixture add the condensed milk and beat with wooden spoon. Add essence.

sift the flour and the baking powder. Add the mixture Mix

Add your inconclusion to the dough Mix gently

use a  teaspoon to scoop out dough 

roll into balls using your palms of your hand

place on baking tray. press down with a fork.

bake 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes

Drama

Talofa welcome back to my blog.This week we are doing drama.

This topic is script detective. We have been reading this book benny. We have been acting out the story of benny and also drawing pictures from the book.We folded the piece of paper in six and we had to draw the pictures and on the other side we had to draw a person and write emotions in the body, like Angry, Happy and more.Role on the wall means inside thoughts/emotions.

The topic is freeze frames and thought tracking. In our group was Zoe,Liyah,Eunize,Artee,Finau and Me.Our freeze frame was this boy(Artee) had a new hair cut.Everyone at school didn't like his new hairstyle.We had to act it out but at the same  time we had to think about why people were gosping and laughing at his hairstyle.We each had a act to do, Me and Finau and Eunize were laughing at him and Zoe and Liyah were gosping.

This took a while because 

What is a freeze frame? A single frame forming a motionless image from a film or a videotape

What is thought tracking? Showing your feelings while acting and also acting your feelings to the a audience.

What is a picture dictation?
The action of dictating words to be typed, written down, recorded on a tape.

What is role on the wall?
Role on the wall is a strategy that invites students to infer meaning of the character.

What is a iceberg?
A iceberg is a normal iceberg but on the top of the iceberg you write what people know about you, but on the bottom of the paper you write what people don't know about you. 

What is hot seating?

Hot seating is when a person sits on a chair and people ask the person questions.
