Ancient Egypt

This term Room 7 and Room 8 are working together for Ancient Egypt for topic . We are making pyramids that have
 what is inside the pyramids and around the pyramids is facts about the pyramid of Giza. The first thing we had to do was to find out facts about the pyramid of Giza.  After that we wrote fact about the pyramid. My buddy was Kelis and we had so much fun doing this together. Later on we had to cut out the white pieces of paper then fold the dotted line.

We had to draw a door that led inside of the pyramid. We had to find where we were going to draw what was inside the pyramid. We had to find the colour of the pyramid. Then we coloured around the pyramid.Also we had to draw what was inside the pyramid and label them.

In the Holiday

In the Holiday me and my sister went to Auckland to see my dad. I was so sad that I had to leave my baby sister and my sister was sad too. When we went on the plane I was crying because I missed my baby sister. We brought a blanket to remember our baby sister. And mum said my older sister can have it to remember our baby sister.


When we got to Auckland I was so happy to see my dad because I haven't seen him in forever. Later on we got home and I was so surprised to see dad's side of the family especially my aunty and uncle. Me and my sister stayed up until 4 in the morning. The next morning we went to Rainbows End with my family.


We had to wake up early so it won't get packed. I'm the only one who did and I woke all of them up because I up early. We were a little bit late which was fine because it was not packed. The first ride we did was go karts. I was a little scared but at least I tried.


We were having a race between our whole family. I let my dad go first then my uncle. Me and my sister were having our own race.The next ride we did was the scariest ride ever it was called the stratosphere. I was screaming the whole way while we were riding. I felt a little dizzy when we went upside down.

I had the best day ever

Cross country

Hi welcome back to my blog today I am going to talk about our cross country.

On Wednesday the 3rd of April Hornby primary school held the cross country of 2019. The juniors ran first all the way to the seniors to last I was happy that I got to be last and at the same time I felt nervous. Some of the year 6 girls and boys had to run with the little kids. They had to do 1 lap just around the big field. Some of the little girls were tired so we told them you got this and you can do this.


A bit later it was the year 6 girls turn I got even more nervous. I tried to go fast as I could but I didn't want to waste my energy for the last lap. I got even more tired and also I got a stitch. My stitch was really hurting so I walked really slow. We had to do the BMX track which was my favourite part of the course.

Our incredible self portraits

Hello welcome back to my blog today I will be talking about our incredible self portraits.

Last week we did this awesome self portraits of our self. We had a great idea but we thought we could try  our personal best and so I tried my personal best too. First we had to draw just our face and we could put our shoulders in if there was room. We had to think about what kind of shape our face was. All of our face shapes were different. I had a hard time trying to draw my face shape because it was really odd.

The next thing we had to do was to grab a black sharpie and trace the pencil part that we drew. This was kinda hard for some of the girls who drew their  hair out which was hard because there was some much hair it took them long. After we traced our beautiful faces we had crepe paper and water.

 So what we had to do with the crepe paper was to lay the crepe paper neatly on your piece of paper with your face on it and just paint the water on the crepe paper. Later on when it dries you can take of the crepe paper and it will look so cool.

Getting our Duffy books from Maria Gill

Hello welcome back to my bog today I will be talking about getting our Duffy books from maria gill

On Thursday we had Maria Gill come to our school and she also gave a our Duffy books that we got from scholastic. In the morning she talked about her books that she wrote about. She had really cool books. We also played some games, it was where we had to guess what name the people were on the picture.She told us the story of what happen and if they were still alive or not.After we she talked she called the room number and 2 people came and got it. I was really exited that we got our books. After she gave our books we went got class and had a little read of our new books.

Thai students

 Hi welcome back to my blog today I will be talking about Thai students that  came to our school and did a performance.

The day before yesterday we had Thai students come to our school.When they came in our classroom they introduced them selves to us. First what we did was we played London bridge is falling down but the song was in Thailand way. We had so much fun playing the game. And they told us with the most people on their side will win.


 So Xavier team won and the winning team has to tell us what we had to do. So his team told us to do the floss and Miss Scott was so mad and she thought it was not funny. So we both got a key chain and my one was sliver and it said Thailand on the front and Xavier got  an elephant and it looked so cool.



On Friday the Thai students came to do a dance for us it was so cool then they wanted us to do it with them too. Then came the funny part where they were doing kick boxing which was s funny. Everyone laughed because it was so funny. I had a great time meeting the Thai students and it was funny.

Buddy class 2019

Last week on Friday it was our last day off buddy class, I was so sad that it was our last day off buddy class for the term. Last week we did a egg in a hat. We made our hats out of newspaper and cello tape. We had to figure out who was wearing the hat. So we choose Vilar. We tried to make a hat that could hold our egg. We didn't even know it was real eggs but luckily we had paint shirts on so we don't mess up our school uniforms. I was so scared that we would lose the challenge. We tried our best but as soon as we went over the seat the egg fell. We didn't win the prize. But at least we tried our best.
